One of the best girl groups of the 2nd generation of K-pop is back!
As the clock struck midnight on July 22 in Korea, YG Entertainment unveiled a captivating announcement video featuring founder Yang Hyun-suk himself, who shared thrilling news about 2NE1's future.
Fifteen years after their iconic debut, the legendary girl group is set to reunite for a highly anticipated global tour, beginning in Seoul this October. The tour will then journey to Osaka in late November and Tokyo in December, with performances extending into 2025.

In the video, Yang Hyun Suk announced that "YG's first-ever successful girl group 2NE1" will be returning with a series of concerts to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary. The venues are already booked, and he expressed his hope that "those who grew up with 2NE1's music will be able to relive the memories" at these concerts.
Iconic K-pop girl group 2NE1 will reunite to embark on a 2024-2025 world tour. This marks the group’s first official activities since disbanding in 2016, excluding their surprise 2022 Coachella performance.
What to Know About 2NE1's Comeback and Their 2024-2025 World Tour
The announcement video revealed that 2NE1 will return as a full group and embark on a global tour. It will start in Seoul, South Korea, in October 2024, at a yet-to-be-revealed booked venue. This comeback tour coincides with the group’s 15th anniversary of their debut this year.
In the video, Yang mentioned the members expressed an interest “to hold a concert to commemorate their 15th anniversary.” “I think this concert will be quite special,” said Yang. “It resonates with those who grew up with 2NE1’s music, sharing those memories.”
Other confirmed cities where 2NE1 will perform are Japan – Osaka in late November 2024 and Tokyo in December 2024. Further details like exact dates and venues will be revealed in the days leading up to the concerts.
This tour will continue into 2025. The future concert stops are also expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

They’re coming back!
In an exciting announcement, Yang Hyun Suk of YG Entertainment revealed that 2NE1 will hold a concert to celebrate their 15th anniversary. He explained that the tour will kick off in early October in Seoul, with shows in Osaka and Tokyo at the end of November and December. They are also working on adding more dates as schedules are finalized.
"The members of 2NE1 informed me that they’d like to hold a concert commemorating their 15th anniversary, so we caught up and happily discussed making it all happen within this year. It will start early October in Seoul and we already booked a performance venue in Osaka and Tokyo for the end of November and December. We’re in the process of adjusting schedules for further performances," said Yang Hyun Suk.
The former CEO of YG Entertainment highlighted the sentimental value of this concert for fans who love 2NE1’s music, promising an unforgettable experience with their many hit songs. He further shared that the staff are dedicated to making this anniversary concert a success.
"I think this concert will be quite special. It resonates with those who grew up with 2NE1’s music, sharing those memories. And in the case of 2NE1, they have an incredible number of hit songs, so all the staff are working hard together to create a successful show," said Yang Hyun Suk.
Speculation about a 2NE1 reunion had been growing ever since CL was photographed outside of the YG Entertainment building recently. This sighting fueled hopes among fans that the group was gearing up for a comeback.
Adding to the excitement, member Sandara Park took to social media to express her joy at the news. She shared a photo of the group and captioned her post on X, “WELCOME BACK, #BLACKJACKS ♠️♥️”
Other Exciting YG Entertainment Plans
Looking ahead to next year, Yang Hyun Suk revealed that many YG artists will likely promote simultaneously. The highly anticipated BLACKPINK comeback and their new world tour are set to launch next year. Additionally, BABYMONSTER and TREASURE are set to embark on world tours in 2025.
Yang Hyun Suk also reminded WINNER fans that Song Min Ho and Kang Seung Yoon will be discharged from the military next year. In 2025, AKMU will continue their promotions, and 2NE1's world tour will also extend into the year. In a mysterious hint, Yang Hyun Suk teased a 'Next Monster,' likely referring to trainees he hopes will debut soon.
By the end of the video and on YG's official social media platforms, 2NE1 was welcomed back with photos and a video medley of their hit songs since debut.
2NE1's Legacy and Recent Activities
The K-pop quartet – consisting of leader CL, Sandara Park, Park Bom, and Minzy – last performed together at Coachella in 2022. The group made a surprise performance of ‘I Am The Best’ during CL’s performance slot during the 88Rising ‘Head in the Clouds Forever’ set. Besides ‘I Am The Best,’ 2NE1 also spawned hits like ‘Fire,’ ‘I Love You,’ and ‘Come Back Home’ (2014).
Earlier in May this year, the group got together for a commemorative photo shoot to celebrate their 15th anniversary. The photos were released on all the members’ Instagram accounts.
Members CL and Sandara Park will be in Singapore in August 2024 as part of the performing line-up for WATERBOMB Singapore 2024.
