We Live in Burma Visual Art Exhibition Showcases Myanmar’s Heritage Through Young Artists

YANGON, 23 June 2026 - The 5th edition of the We Live in Burma Visual Art Exhibition was held in Yangon from July 19 June to 23 June , 2026, bringing together artists from across Myanmar and the global Myanmar diaspora to celebrate the country’s rich cultural identity.
Organized by the Myanmar Culture Society, the exhibition featured 80 artworks created by 36 artists. Under the theme “We Live in Burma,” the exhibition highlighted various aspects of Myanmar’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage, traditions, and everyday life through diverse artistic expressions.
The event showcased works by emerging artists representing different regions of Myanmar, alongside young diaspora Myanmar artists from four countries. Their artworks reflected a wide range of perspectives on national identity, cultural preservation, and contemporary experiences, demonstrating the enduring connection between Myanmar’s people and their heritage.
Since its inception in 2022, the We Live in Burma Visual Art Exhibition has served as a platform for young artists to express their creativity while promoting appreciation for Myanmar’s cultural diversity. The 2026 exhibition continued this mission by fostering cultural exchange and encouraging dialogue through visual arts.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore paintings, mixed-media works, and other artistic creations that celebrated the nation’s traditions while presenting fresh interpretations from a new generation of artists. The exhibition reinforced the importance of art as a medium for preserving cultural heritage and strengthening community ties across borders.
